Andre Malraux School, Ealing, London

Back

This project for the Charles de-Gaulle school out at Ealing called the Ecole Andre Malraux French school.

This project consisted of a completely new roof for the whole school, plus a small extension for the kitchen. All this was to be completed during the school summer holidays. We needed to take off the whole tiled roof and replace with new roofing, which included all new ply and felt. We also removed tonnes of pea shingle from the flat roof and the old and tired skylights.

We replaced them with new Velux style windows which are solar powered and rain operated. Sealing unwanted skylights and the painting with a solar reflective paint to aid costs and keeping the school cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

We also built a small extension on-site at the school, painted two walkways and cleaned off long-term paint and concrete from two walls. All this was achieved on time and under budget within a school holiday. Time and controls on this project meant we needed to hit every target.

This was a very satisfying project, with our clients very happy with the results and endeavour.
